Bill Richardson Answers Every Question
July 28, 2007
Billy Cox, a Florida Journalist has been looking for him. So has Dr. Steven Greer. UFO lobbyist Steven Bassett invited him to a conference next spring to announce his plans for UFO disclosure. So far there is no news that Richardson has replied to the invites and the questions.
So what's the Bill deal? Richardson is a politician which puts him into the book of “Scoundrels I have Known and Loved." It’s not like he’s expected to reply to everyone – or anyone.
Well, the key here is that Richardson has been interested in UFOs in the past, and Ufologists are eternal optimists. In 2004, Richardson was quoted talking about the famous Roswell UFO crash in a book written about the archaeological dig at the supposed crash site called “The Roswell Dig Diaries.”
"Clearly, it would help everyone if the U.S. government disclosed everything it knows," said Richardson, who served as Energy secretary under President Bill Clinton. "The American people can handle the truth -- no matter how bizarre or mundane. ... With full disclosure and our best scientific investigation, we should be able to find out what happened on that fateful day in July 1947."
Further to this, as...

Weekly World News Alien Connection
July 26, 2007
As long as UFOs have been around they have often been regarded by the general public as a tabloid type story, sometimes not worthy of serious consideration. This preconceived attitude has extended itself to the rest of the media which rarely does anything beyond fluff on the subject.
This image of UFOs may have been created by the CIA in January 1953 when they gave secret instructions to take “immediate steps to strip the Unidentified Flying Objects of the special status they have been given and the aura of mystery they have unfortunately acquired.” The CIA committee suggested an educational debunking program to be “accomplished by mass media such as television, motion pictures, and popular articles.”
Now, what’s important about this? Well, unknown to everyone who believes the UFO tabloid myth, there actually is only one tabloid that does UFO stories. The main tabloid papers such as the National Enquirer and The Star do not cover UFO stories and haven't done so for almost two decades.
Now after 28 years of putting out wacko stories, the only UFO tabloid newspaper that did do UFO stories is folding. As of August 2007, the Publisher American Media Inc announced it would stop publishing the Weekly...

Hillary Files Face Lawsuit
July 25, 2007
I have filed 80+ FOIAs for UFO files with the Clinton Presidential Library.
Even though the requests were filed in February 2006 I have not received a single page of the roughly 30,000 pages that are under review for me. Now Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption has filed a lawsuit against U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, which runs the Clinton Library. The lawsuit requests Hillary Clinton's files related to the her involvement with the Bill Clinton administration.
How this is resolved will be of interest to Ufology, as almost all of my UFO requests were filed before the Judicial Watch FOIA, and they should therefore be processed first.

CNN Debate UFO Question
July 22, 2007
My friend Steve Bassett had placed question on youtube with his UFO
question for the democratic devbate taking place at the Citadel in Charleston, S.C. on July 23, 2007 at 7pm EST.
Steve writes, "This question to all the candidates requests their intentions as president regarding their being fully briefed on the ET/UFO issue by the military and civilian intelligence agencies and regarding their calling for open, comprehensive congressional hearings to take the testimony of scores of former government employees ready to come before the Congress now."
Readers can view the question at

UFO Questions for the 2008 Campaign
July 20, 2007
Steve Bassett, the lone Washington UFO Lobbyist and Executive Director of the Paradigm Research Group Extraterrestrial Phenomena Political Action Committee has now posted
questions that can be asked of the various 2008 Election Campaign. This is one of Steve's main ideas to get the ET issue into the discussion of issues of the 2008 election.
However, in 2004 General Wesley Clark was a forerunner in the Democratic primaries. He stood up in the New Hampshire primary and told voters that he believed we could exceed the speed of light, which led to an e-mail message to me that General Clark had been briefed on the crash saucer program. When I asked some of the top ufologists in various states to ask Clark if he had been briefed on UFOs, I was told by some that they did not want to “embarrass” the candidate or "ruin his chance" to win.
Hopefully, times have changed and ufologists believe it is important enough to stand up to the plate. If not ufology will remain a hobby style interest for the general public.

Truman's Secret Roswell Interest (UPDATE)
July 20, 2007
As expected General Lawrence Craigie, who it is now claimed was flown into Roswell following the 1947 crash and made a deal with President Truman to keep quiet, has no supporting evidence from the Truman presidential files.
In an e-mail dated July 20, 2007 Randy Sowell at the Truman library wrote
Greetings from the Truman Library:
Thank you for your e-mail of July 13. I found only three references to
General Craigie in President Truman's White House files. In January
1948, Craigie was named by Secretary of the Air Force Stuart Symington
as his representative on the Interdepartmental Committee on Research and
Development. In August 1949, Craigie contacted the White House to
request an autographed photo of the President, which he received. In
June 1952, Craigie was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff for Development,
U.S. Air Force, with the rank of Lt. General. I found no correspondence
with Craigie dating from July 1947.
I looked through the President's phone records from July 1947 and found
no references to General Craigie. The President's appointments schedule
includes one listing of Craigie's name. He was in attendance on Dec.
17, 1947, at a White House ceremony marking the presentation of the
Collier Trophy...

Truman's Secret Roswell Interest
July 14, 2007
As a Presidential UFO researcher I have been following the how the most powerful man in the world has dealt with the most highly classified secret of the last century- the UFO mystery.
In this regard I have tracked Presidential phone calls, visits with people who have been tied into the UFO mystery, replies to UFO queries from the media of the public, and meetings in the White House that might have involved the subject of UFOs.
Most of this work has brought few results. At times the lack of apparent involvement has led me think the President might not be involved at all.
President Truman is a prime example. Although he was in office at the time of the rumored Roswell UFO crash, a close review of all the presidential schedules shows very little was being done by the President that would tie him into the story. There have been promising leads such as when it was rumored there was film of him attending the alien autopsy that occurred just following the crash. The lead turned out to be without substance like many of the other leads that came forward.
From time to time, however, one gets lucky. Little...

UFOs in the 2008 Presidential Election (Updated)
July 8, 2007
As of yet UFOs have not become a part of the 2008 U.S. presidential election. Issues still centre on the war in Iraq, and domestic issues that affect daily well being.
There is a lack of discussion on the issue of UFOs, despite the fact that some of the candidates have been involved with the issue in the past. John McCain, a leading Republican candidate for President has faced the UFO question in the past, according to Todd Ristau of the Iowa UFO Research Network.
Ristau claimed that during the 2000 presidential campaign, "McCain acknowledged that there are very interesting aspects of the UFO question and he is ready to investigate what he can, after he is elected." He didn't get elected so we will never know what would have happened. When asked about the 1997 Pheonix lights which had always been held high by researchers as one of the firmest pieces of evidence we are being visited, McCain was less enthusiastic. He stated, “"That has never been fully explained, but I have to tell you that I do not have any evidence whatsoever of aliens or UFOs."
Bill Richardson is a former New Mexico State governor, and...

UFO Secret
July 7, 2007
The other day a new book titled Witness to Roswell: Unmasking the 60-Year Cover-Up by Thomas J. Carey and Donald R. Schmitt 2007 revealed the fact that someone connected to the 1947 Roswell crash had left behind a secret to be found following his death. In a 2002 SEALED AFFIDAVIT WALTER G. HAUT, the base Public Information Officer at the Roswell Army Air Base in Roswell, New Mexico, told the true story of what he saw and knew regarding the famous rumored UFO crash.
Prior to the discovery of the notarized affidavit following Haut’s December 2005 death, Haut acknowledged he had sent out a press statement that a flying saucer had been found, but that he could remember very little about what exactly was recovered and whether or not alien bodies were involved. The affidavit confirmed that the recovery was indeed a flying saucer, and that bodies were recovered. It is a nice story that adds great weight to the fact that we are not alone in the Universe.
The Haut story has made many in Ufology happy, but it has made me sad. I have been in the UFO business for 32 years and no one has ever told...

We’re Not Crazy After All
July 4, 2007
Last week the Washington Post newspaper published a major series of articles and Powerpoint presentations on “the Angler,” which is the secret service code name for Vice President Dick Cheney.
It make me think back on my 15 seconds of fame when I got to question Cheney about a subject near and dear to my heart – UFOs. The event occurred on April 11, 2001 on the Washington D.C. Diane Rehm talk show, just after Bush and Cheney had won the White House.
Questioning a guy like Cheney is no small feat. He has always come across like the Godfather of Secrets and back room dealings. As the Washington Post stated of him, “Cheney, has in effect, declared himself to be neither fish nor fowl but an exotic, extraconstitutional beast who answers to no one.”
The question I asked had to do with being briefing on UFOs rather than UFOs as a subject. In the past people had questioned the President on a sighting they had experienced or what they thought about UFOs. Because you usually only get one question with someone like the President, the President has usually been able to sidestep the question with hypotheticals. No one makes it to...

They're Back !!
July 3, 2007
We Ufologists are a conspiratorial bunch. We see a hidden secret behind every rock, and secret society politician or military officer doing the hiding. There are many in power who stay up late at night to find ways to lead Ufology astray, and away from the truth.
In the past I have not bought into this world view, believing instead that those in power only wanted to be there badly and competing against the other 99% of people who could care less about politics. My view has always been that those in power have much less going for them than in the general public. One only has to read biographies of many of the Presidents to learn about shortcomings in their private lives. They have a long way to go in learning how to walk on water.
However, there are those days when I wonder. Yesterday was such a day. I had the blog thing down and I quickly posted my third blog comment before running out for a luncheon appointment. I checked the page to make sure, as I would rather find the error instead of scores of readers finding it and thereby questioning if I ever attended school....

What the hell is Going On?
July 2, 2007
In the last couple days I have been reviewing the draft of a 27-page article titled “The Breaking of Jim Sparks, or, why the Aliens Don’t Land on the White House lawn.” The article has been written for the second issue of The Journal of Abduction Research (JAR) which is a new first class magazine with articles from the top abduction researchers around the world. The article I was reviewing was written by JAR Board Member Elaine Douglass, who is also Utah Co-State Director for MUFON.
Elaine and I go back a long way. We have met many times at conferences on the west coast, and I stayed at her house once on my way back from the World UFO Congress in Laughlin, Nevada. Elaine is like me in that she is ultimately interested in “what the hell is going on” as opposed to collecting UFO cases. Elaine holds a master degree in military policy from MIT, which has always made me wonder how she got into UFOs.
Elaine is very direct. I recall lecturing in Denver where I indicated that, based on the evidence I was seeing, I was starting to have doubts the President of the United States knew...

Abduction Conditioning
July 1, 2007
PIXAR's
"Lifted" is released. Last night, June 30th, I sat in a full theatre of kids to see the new 5 minute short just released by Disney/PIXAR Animation Studios. It is

the story of an alien in training, as he attempts his first abduction of a human sleeping in the upstairs of a lonely country house. While his alien instructor agonized in pain over what was happening, the kids in the theatre roared with laughter at every move. The piece was amazingly funny, and it led me to carefully watch the reaction of the children around me. Would they now be willing to accept abduction as just another part of life to be laughed at, rather than the terror that has been used so often in UFO abduction books to describe the phenomena? My conclusion - they loved it and so will you. Be sure to see it along with
Ratatoulle which is the movie it proceeds.
